  • What is Root Canal?

  5. Sealing it: Your tooth will need a permanent restoration, a filling or a crown; to replace lost tooth structure, and provide a complete seal to the top of the tooth.
Note: After the procedure, an antibiotic may be prescribed to treat or prevent infection. Be sure to follow the instructions of your dentist or endodontist carefully.

  • Can Root Canal be prevented?
Yes, following good oral hygiene practices, like:
  1. Brushing twice a day.
  2. Flossing at least once a day.
  3. Scheduling regular dental visits may reduce the need for a root canal procedure. 
  4. Trauma resulting from a sports-related injury can be reduced by wearing a mouth guard.
